Pisang Peak (6,091 meters/19,984 feet), also known as Jong Ri, lies between Annapurna and Manaslu in the Manang district. In the year 1955, a German Expedition team first climbed the Pisang Peak successfully. Pisang Peak thereafter came to limelight and has become a popular trekking peak in the Annapurna region. The trekking offers a captivating journey through diverse landscapes, cultural sites, and vast biodiversity. Likewise, climbing and summiting the peak is a thrilling and triumphant moment. Pisang Peak is straightforward, with quick climbing experience. Though Pisang Peak is characterized as an easy climbing Peak in the Himalayas, a fair enough fitness level with sound health conditions is required for a successful adventure. Summiting Pisang Peak offers close-range panoramic views of stunning mountain peaks, including Annapurna, Chulu Range, Manaslu, Himlung, Tilicho Peak, Damodar, etc. The 15-day Pisang Peak Climbing itinerary of Exciting Nepal offers a fascinating and adventurous journey in the Himalayas with a harmonious balance of the trek and climb to the trekking peak, Pisang.

Itinerary
Fair Himalayan team will be there to greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and take you to your hotel, followed by a briefing covering information, dos and don’ts of your trek. Your safety and comfort are paramount.
Today, after an early breakfast, we will drive for about 5 to 6 hours before reaching Besisahar – about 190 kilometers from Kathmandu. After reaching Besisahar we will head by jeep to Syange where you will have some incredible views of Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Mt. Manaslu (8156m) and Mt Lamjung (6983m). Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
The journey today takes us along a dirt road through a gorge with amazing waterfalls cascading down into it and with numerous views of snow-capped peaks along the way. The winding road takes us from Syange and via Jagat village (1410m), and then reaches Chamje Village. After crossing the bridge there is a steep climb before we reach the village of Tal (1700m), situated next to the Marsyangdi River. Leaving Tal we continue on before reaching today’s s destination, Dharapani village where we will stay the night. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
Today we begin trekking from Dharapani climbing higher and a noticeable change with cooler conditions. You will see a change in the landscape at this higher elevation as the trail passes through forests before reaching the Tibetan village of the Bagarchhap with its distinctive Tibetan architecture. Climbing higher we reach the apple-growing region and farms along with pine forests and views of Lamjung and Annapurna II peaks. The trail then follows the Marsyangdi River heading upstream and passes the villages of Manang and Koto before reaching Chame. It is a very easy walk from Koto to Chame where we spend the night. Chame is the district headquarters of the Manang region. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
After leaving Chame on our five to six hour trek we pass through Telekhu and along the trail have some breathtaking views of Annapurna and Pisang (6091m) until we have to re-cross on a suspension bridge to the south bank of the Marsyangdi River. After crossing the river we then head higher passing a pine-forest as we trek through the upper reaches of the Manang valley to Pisang. At the upper edge of Pisang village we can see Pisang and Chulu peaks. Tonight we stay at Pisang.
Medical professionals recommend that before heading to higher elevations that trekkers spend some time acclimatizing. They also recommend staying active. From here you have some very impressive views of the Annapurnas, Gangapurna and Tilicho. Tonight we will stay at the lodge. Breakfast, lunch & dinner are included.
Today we begin our three to four hour trek by ascending to Base Camp and to find a suitable place to set up camp for the night. There are several flat places to erect our tents at Yak Kharka where we stay overnight. Breakfast, lunch & dinner Included.
Today we ascend for three to four hours all the way to High Camp climbing across the south west ridge. We will set up our tents here tonight. Breakfast, lunch, & dinner Included.
We have a long day ahead of us as we set out on a seven to nine hour trek to Pisang Peak summit. We follow the ridge and then come to a more difficult section where we fix ropes until reaching the summit. From the summit there are some extraordinary panoramic views over the surrounding mountains. After taking in the views and regaining our breath we will descend back to Base Camp for the night. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
We will head to Pisang Village on the first leg of our trek today and then follow the trail on the banks of the river. The landscape at this lower altitude is greener and denser compared with the desolate landscape on Pisang Peak. Manang is situated in the valley of the Marsyangdi River. Tonight we will stay at a lodge. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
Today’s trek is of about three to four hours gradually ascending to Yak Kharka where we will stay the night. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
We make our way to the foot of the pass (Thorong Pedi) situated at the base of Thorong La Pass. This is a small village where we will stay the night. Breakfast, lunch & dinner included.
Today is most likely the toughest day of the trek, hiking for around 6 to 8 hours. The higher altitude contributes to the degree of difficulty and sometimes strong winds in these upper regions. Along the trail, we may pass sheep, yaks, and merchants transporting their goods. Once we reach Thorong La Pass we will be rewarded with breath-taking views of Annapurna, Gangapurna and the eye-catching peak of Khatungkang (6484m). Leaving the pass we descend around 1600 meters and the brilliant Dhaulagiri (Dhaula Giri, meaning “White Mountain”) is the highest mountain that is entirely in Nepal. The trail is more undulating and relatively easy before we reach Muktinath where we stay the night.
From Muktinath, we pass through lush meadows, fruit trees, and streams passing through Kagbeni before we reach Jomsom in the. Kali Gandaki valley. Jomsom is the headquarters of the Mustang District and home to the Thakali people. It is worth a visit to the Jomsom Eco-Museum. This should take us about five to six hours. Kagbeni has a well-deserved reputation for its horticulture industry. Breakfast, lunch & dinner.
We have an early 35 minute flight to catch to Pokhara today. The scenic flight takes us between Annapurna and Dhaulagiri peaks and offers fantastic views of other Himalayan mountains. We have the entire afternoon to explore Pokhara and can sit by Lakeside with a drink or maybe do some shopping along the shopping area alongside Phewa Tal (lake). If time is short you may wish to fly to Kathmandu today instead of waiting for tomorrow when we drive back. Breakfast included.
Today we head back on a 6 to 7-hour drive to Kathmandu with many fond memories of Nepal and its unique culture and geography. These memories will last a lifetime!
Fair Himalayan staff will transfer you to the airport for your final departure from Nepal. We hope that this epic trek will be firmly ingrained in your memory and will be enough to prompt you to consider your next trek with us!
